Xbox One X review – specifications | features

Us old folks had our gaming beginnings with a bubbly Gameboy or some old PlayStation we had. Probably our moms hate it, and moms blamed these innocent techie pieces. All in all, Microsoft had its game by introducing the new intruder, the Xbox. With all of the Xboxes came into the scene; Xbox (November 2001), Xbox 360(November 2005), Xbox One (November 2013), here comes the Xbox one x.

If you are not familiar with Xbox, it’s a video gaming brand created and owned by Microsoft. Xbox One X is the newest member of the Xbox family, the video gaming console that is released representing the eighth generation.

Why Xbox One X is the world’s most powerful console?

Delivering 4K HDR at 60 frames per second it’s quite the powerful premium console Microsoft promised.

Xbox One X comes with Eight-core CPU running at 2.3GHz,12GB of GDDR5 RAM,40 CUs and 6 teraflop GPU. Can be considered as a major improvement comparing to its previous successor, Xbox One S which got Eight-core CPU running at 1.75GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 12CUs and 1.23 teraflop GPU. But you won’t be getting this most powerful console for cheap, its starting price is $499.

With One X there are free updates for Star Wars Battlefront II, Forza Motorsport 7, Super Lucky’s and Rise of the Tomb Raider Enhanced for One X.

And good news for media junkies, the console got 4K Netflix on-board alongside a 4K app for YouTube and it supports Dolby Atmos audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and the other audio formats. But the graphical improvements are most visible on a 4K UHD Premium TV, so you might need a new TV for sharp visuals.

In addition to the Xbox One S’s CD, DVD, Blue-ray Disc, USB Drive with supported media and DLNA Servers Xbox One X comes with UHD Blu-ray Disc support.

The design, isn’t it identical to the Xbox One S?

I think it look similar with except for the matte space grey color which has replaced the white sheen of Xbox One S and moving the disc tray, IR receiver and front-facing USB port. And some added pounds. Yes, it has become slimmer than the original but weigh 8.4lbs. And if you haven’t seen a One S before it’s a rectangular box bit larger and looks similar to a Blu-ray player.

What it matters is the inside, how it became more impressively equipped.

You might be interested in what are the popular 4K Games that are Enhanced for Xbox One X

  1. Assassin’s Creed Origins
  2. Forza Motorsport 7
  3. Gears of War 4
  4. Rise of the Tomb Raider
  5. Call of Duty: WWII
  6. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  7. Super Lucky’s Tale
  8. Quantum Break

And for kids, there is Yooka-Laylee, LEGO Dimensions, Fruit Ninja Kinect 2, LEGO Jurassic World, Zoo Tycoon, Peggle 2 and etc.

How to get the most of it

  • Make sure all your new downloads are “Xbox One X Enhanced Games” and see if there are updates for your favorite games.
  • Check whether your HDMI cable is rated for HDMI 2.0 to get the best of 4K HDR.
  • If you have a 4K HDR TV, its better. You can get the best out of Xbox One X but ensure you have enabled HDR for the HDMI port you are going to use.
  • If you are an online gamer sign up with Xbox Live Gold which gives you benefits such as getting big discounts on games.
  • Upgrading the storage is another thing you should consider if you got a large storage of games.

Why it’s not yet the best

Though it’s the most powerful there are some drawbacks. The 1TB hard drive seems a pretty enough space to store all the libraries, but enhanced 4k image assets, and games like Forza Motorsport 7 and Gears of War 4 with 100GB plus downloads just makes 1TB is not a big number at all. And what most players say is its bit slow. In both consoles it takes exactly the same time to boot the Xbox Home screen.

There aren’t any specific virtual- reality support for Xbox One X, though the main competitor PlayStation 4 works with Sony’s PlayStation VR headset.

4K at 60fps with HDR visuals that Microsoft brags about One X is the maximum it could achieve not the standard and it won’t be supported by all the games.

Yes, its lets noisier, gorgeous graphics and all but if you are still doubtful whether to buy or not; you can get an Xbox One S for $279 and for a One X its $499. Its lot of extra cash to pay and you are not missing any games on One S. And controller wise, it’s mechanically same as the One S. If you wanna save some cash its better consider by an One S with most probably with a 2TB hard drive.

So we can say it’s not a MUST buy.

May be there are limitations but no gamer can resist the excitement for this most powerful console ever.
